The goal of the project is to create a unified identity for the Baltic Sea region with highlighting and advertising the most significant resources of the Baltic Sea region natural and cultural heritage as the special value of the region.
The project involves tourism sector associations, state institutions, business representatives, education and science institutes, i.e., 25 partners from 10 countries around the Baltic Sea in total, and Greifswald University in Germany is the leading project partner. Latvia is represented in the project by LTDA together with the Latvian rural tourism association Lauku Ceļotājs and Latvian Fund for Nature.
In this project LTDA and other partners got involved in implementation of Activity 4 “Research of the Baltic Sea Region Heritage”, which envisions defining the natural and cultural heritage resources in the Baltic Sea region, developing a unified database, ranging of online-based objects (for determining the “6 wonders” of the Baltic Sea region, i.e., most significant heritage resources) elaborating the marketing concept of the Baltic Sea region natural and cultural resources and marketing and distributions channels manual for the natural and cultural heritage. Creation of identity for the Baltic Sea region as a unified destination is planned for the conclusion.
It is planned to implement the project activities by 16 December 2012.
The planned funding for the project Agora 2.0 from the Latvian Tourism Development Agency is EUR 30,000, 85% of which is EU funding and 15% is state budget funding.
